Sidewalk Kal has no crew or image to sell to blogs and listeners that would help him get hype like a lot of his contemporaries, however, he has managed to win us over with nothing more than a few stellar tracks.  His latest leak ‘Sidewalk Kal’, the first taste of his upcoming album Gold, shows off exactly why he is an artist to look out for.  Over a classic boom bap beat (with what sounds like a strangled guitar thrown in for good measure) Sidewalk Kal lays out a word and rhyme dense flow that is up there with the best of hip-hop.  If this is your first introduction, he’s the “blunt toking animal, bath salt cannibal, the shiny motherfucka you can never hold a candle to.” Blikka bloaw.
