EP: Fruit Tones & Pink Teens – Hamlovers

When going through the embarrassing amount of unread emails currently in our inbox, I often go by the philosophy “anything by Temple Songs or Pink Teens will be amazing”.  With this new split EP along with Fruit Tones, that philosophy has yet to let me down.  I don’t know if Pink Teens is completely replacing Temple Songs as the main project of jangle-pop mastermind Jolan Lewis, however, his songwriting has never been better.  “Hands are Shaking” is a slice 60s garage rock flavored bliss and reaches the same energetic highs as any of Temple Songs previous fuzzed-out material.  Fellow Manchester natives, Fruit Tones hold up their end of the split with tambourine shake saturated garage rock.  The Tones even offer up a cover of Temple Songs “$$$$$$’ $$ $ $ $$$$$$$$$” with “¢¢¢¢¢¢’ ¢¢ ¢ ¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢¢”.  It’s awesome to hear two groups inspiring each other to make cool things.  Stream the entire EP after the jump.
