Lately, it’s become increasingly difficult to avoid the work and music of Sam Ray (not that you’d want to). Heading the efforts behind the 420 love songs project, the now defunct Teen Suicide and Ricky Eat Acid, Sam Ray is looking to make 2013 his year. Like some of our favorite prolific songwriters, Sam Ray shows influence and reverence towards hip-hop and electronic music with his solo project Ricky Eat Acid. Generally, Ricky Eat Acid has been Ray’s project to experiment with eclectic sounds, textures and has even released a chopped and screwed Trey Songz remix. “I can hear the heart breaking as one” is the newest release from the project and as the name suggests it is an emotive and heavy listen. The track would serve as a proper soundtrack to about any dramatic situation you could think of that might happen in a Hollywood film with equal parts melodrama and beautiful atmosphere. “I can hear the heart breaking as one” is just another reason Sam Ray has become a recent Up-Turn favorite.
