We’ve been following the UK producer Kings for a while now as he’s grown and matured his 808-based sound. What has always set Kings apart has been his ability to capture subtly-stunning and gorgeous moments and place them in the unexpected context of a trap-styled hip-hop beat. The Krap EP has Kings pushing instrumentation with compositionally rich and lush tracks. None of the songs of Krap feel like unfinished trap-minded thoughts that are so easy to find on soundcloud these days, instead Kings showcases his incredibly knack for synthesizing musical elements that wouldn’t ordinarily work together. Stream two of my favorite tracks below and check out all of Krap after the jump.
