This is just a radio rip, but it is pretty telling. Kid Cudi is obviously trying really hard to step out of his box (the entire rap genre) with his new album, and thats cool and all, but instead of trying something new, at least in this song, he is making a style of music that has already been done to death. This is reminiscent of mid 2000′s Greenday, and it is extremely disappointing. Thank god he got Kanye West on this track to take his next step in his rapid re-taking over of all of rap, because if it weren’t for Kanye’s verse I wouldn’t even want to put this in my iTunes library.
